109 footwell lamp

this may seem obvious, but i have had some trouble finding the position and residual wiring of the drivers footwell lamp for the 6.3. the previous owner evidently removed it for some unknown reason. i have a brown wire and black/red wire to play with.
any info would be appreciated???

The brown is (probably) a ground, and red/black is hot when the light is switched on. What does the passenger side lampo look like?

No passenger side lamp, for some reason.

Black/red is hot, brown is (always on german cars) ground.
