Holy Rust Batman!

I just went to change the front shocks on 2526. I jacked the car up and put jack stands right next to the jack point on the sills.

As I lowered the jack, the sill completely caved in. It looks like that section of the sill and maybe the rest is made out of bondo on the drivers side.

I know that the passenger side is much the same way

Fun fun fun.

So I guess you won't be bringing that one to Centerville on Saturday?

The 81 500SLC. It must have been an Englishman who did the bodywork on this car the first time around

Reminds me of how I once tried to use the factory jack to raise a rear wheel on my rusty Fintail, and the jacking port just came right off!

Happy Motoring, Mark
