W124 300CE remove center console
I'm trying to remove the center console on my 300CE to replace it with a black one. I'm having trouble removing the part that is connected to the dashboard under the vents.
Do I need to remove panel with the hazard light switch first? If so, how do I take that piece off? I've removed the screws that I can see and the panel is wiggling around but I cannot remove it entirely. |

You need to seperate the switch panel from the climate panel first. Then remove them both before getting to the nuts that are holding the console.

Ah got it thanks.
I ended up just removing the climate panel and left the switch panel in place. I could only pop it out of the clips holding it in, but cannot remove it completely. Used a 1/4" with a small 3" extension and 10mm deep socket, went vertical from where the radio sits and was able to undo the nuts by hand. Once the nuts came out, the console slid backwards and out. |

The console is not fastened in the rear end of it near the back seat?

I got nowhere just sliding it backwards after removing the front bolts.
