86 560 sel won't start
I have 86 560 sel that was running fine even though we were not driving it up until today.
Had someone who wanted to purchase it and I went to start and nothing... I do not hear the fuel pump as I thought I normally did previously. I can not get it to start, turns over fine. I have read the posts concerning Fuel Pump Relay but wanted to be sure before I went to purchase one. Are there any tricks to diagnosis this as the problem? Any ideas or suggestions appreciated, just did not want to jump in and purchase a fuel pump either. Thanks in advance.

If the car has been sitting a long time the fuel pump(s) might be stuck or the connections to them are corroded. Tapping them with a mallet (gently!) might help.
But the fact that you hear nothing makes it hard to believe that both died at once, so it could well be the fuel pump relay. Because the car has been sitting I'd remove and reseat it in the socket before buying a new one.

Thanks,
I was able to get a used relay and it started, I had to replace the relay next to it and do not know what it is. The have the same part number on them but are different. Now the gauges do not work, fuel, tach, temp, etc need to work on that now.
