How to replace headlight covers on W210?
I purchased replacement OEM headlight covers for my 97 E420 (w210). Does anyone have step by step instructions for the removal of the headlight assembly for a car with headlight washers? tx's!

You can polish your oxidized / crazed lenses....Ive done it to several hondas.
you can buy the w210 Factory service manual from MB, it tells you how to do those things. Also you can buy a 1 car subscription to all data, that would be the cheapest for you. good luck |

I think the covers are glued on, and that you need to heat the assembly to soften up the glue. Use the keyword search on this or the mbworld dot org forums and I think you'll find more details.

factory outer (fluted) lens for halogen weren't really glued on in my case. I
simply loosened screws securing a clamp and the lens was easily pryed off. there is the customary non-hardening sealent inside the perimeter groove at the rim. in other words, the lens was removed within 1-2 mins. you may want to have a heat gun or hair dryer handy just in case. rare that you'll need to place OEM headlight into an oven to facilitate lens removal. HIDs may differ - i have no experience with this variant
