Help in replacing alternator belt on 420sel

My alternator recently seized and the belt broke. Replacements are on the way. There several belts that are in the way. What is the proper order to loosen these other belts to replace the alternator belt. Do the fan and the radiator need to be removed to get at this? So far it is taking me a lot of time trying to figure the best way. Thanks in advance.

John

I had a 420 SEL and I changed the belts on it several times during the time I had it. I don't recall it being difficult at all. I have the special tool that is need to hold, I believe it was a pulley for maybe the A/C belt that needs to be removed to replace some of the other belts. The tool is made by Stahwille 1009G Mercedes part #117589050700. I've been auctioning off, on ebay, some of my special tools that are unique to MB modlels I no long own. If I put this one up for auction I let you know.

Thanks

After stripping a few nuts, I managed to get all the belts out of the way to get at the alternator belt. It was pretty easy hindsight. If anyone is interested in learning how, let me know. I'll detail step by step in these procedure to remove the belts.

I would be interested in any suggestions you have that would have helped in this job. Getting ready to do mine but I'm going to replace all 5 belts so at least I won't have to do gyrations ( I hope)
thanks
