I think the Matuka honey has a higher percentage of peroxide than other honeys. I have heard/read a couple of different sources, that if you have alergies, take a spoonfull of hoeny a day. Perferable honey that is grown in a 100 mile radius from you.
Another thing to try for infections if Tea Tree oil. I do use it on cuts and stuff. It seems to work well. I do use Neosporin also. I can't say which works better. I do get some type of insect bites on my leggs from late spring to summer. I tried some topical ointments. They didn't work all that well. A local health food store recomended Virginia Snake root. It worked well. So, I have had some success with homeopathic treatments. I use to have dandruf. I mean snow storm bad. I have tired plenty of the dandruff shampoos. They worked for a week or so. I think a brand called Sebrum in a black bottle worked best. Still a bit harsh on hair. I stumbled onto Aubreys Clean rinse. I now only use it on occasion. I also use Ligett's bar soap shampoo. Although I am using Burt's Bees bar soap shampoo presently. Tom |

^^ Thanks, good info. Finding the right balance in something like a dandruff shampoo would be tough I imagine. Too aggressive and the skin gets irritated as a side effect.
Also it appears that supplements of the amino acid L-Arginine and zinc are potentially useful in the healing of wounds. I gather one can OD on zinc, so I'm going light on that one.

Honey cultivated from local hives does help with allergies. Other than that I don't know.
But it sure is good on a hot buttered biscuit. |
