New inmate? New Client? Expanding your practice into criminal law?
Curious: Is the convicted party already behind bars? Or are you going to the prison to discuss your client's accomodations?

How 'bout the Plaxman getting two years. Bye Bye!
Who'se sorry now?

Four counts willful failure to file, one criminal contempt and flight from justice. I got it post conviction. He's in jail b/c he violated his bond agreement.

I've always done criminal law. I mean new in the sense that this guy is a millionaire, clean cut, war hero type guy that got caught up in one of the no tax cults and its a strange situation with some other details.

It never ceases to amaze me how people fall for the no tax pitches. Man if there's one thing the IRS is merciless and agressive over, it's these "income tax is unconstitutional" protesting taxpayers. Have they ever won a case? One?

Don't know why, but I figured you for corporate or contract (sports & entertainment) law. Not criminal.

Ugggh! Stripping, sanding and painting the side of a delivery van which someone decided to "customize". Freakin' vandals! At least these cretins were original. They "graffitized" the truck using paint stripper!

So its; Use stripper to clean the spots they didn't get, scrape the loosened paint, wash, sand, wash, sand, wash, mask off all the decals they didn't get, install the 1.9 mm nozzle in my gun, spray with etching primer (did I mention the van is aluminum?), spray with sealer, sand, wash, change the nozzle in my gun to a 1.5mm, clean the nasty primer out of the gun, re-spray the truck, wait, spray the second coat to get all the spots I missed (I hate painting white on white), remove the masking tape, re-paint the bump guards and replace the other decals.

Sigh, I guess if it was easy then they wouldn't call it work!

I'm thinking this evening just might involve a couple of cold pilsners, some quiet music and a good stretchout on the chaise lounge.

I met a lot of new people today when one of my clients invited me to a BNI meeting (see the thread I started about that). I left there feeling pretty pumped up, especially considering how deflated I felt when I arrived.

It has turned out to be a rather nice Hump Day for me. I hope the same is true for you, too.

G500 got sandwiched between 2 SUVs....

Little sister was driving.... Scary, as I was sitting in class, and got a text messaging from big sister saying "911 - Call home. Caitlin in accident, and is with parameds."

She had come to a stop in traffic, when a new Chevy Tahoe plowed into the back of the our car. The people that pulled over to make sure she was ok said that the driver of the Tahoe was not paying attention, and was going about 40mph when the accident happened. As a result, the G got pushed into the car waiting in front....

Anyways, the little one turned out to be OK, just some whiplash, and some bruising from the seatbelt. Her friend that was riding shotgun was not wearing the shoulder part of the seatbelt, only the lap part, and smacked her head on the "oh crap" handle on the dash, but she is OK too.
