There is a safety recall on the ignition switch which can cause the car to die in traffic if it is not taken care of. Make sure it is resolved. I have a friend with the same year/model and he has over 230k miles on it and it still looks good and runs out good.

Luv ours...

We’ve got a 2000.
Love it. Never been in for anything major. There is also a SB on the electric sliding doors I found out about when one of ours stopped working. No big deal to do. Mainly just opening up the door and frame panels and sanding the paint off some ground points for better contact. Ours has been like the Energizer Bunny. Oil. Tires. 150K, and it keeps going and.....

Got a ‘94 Accord too. Same thing...
Just like the 300D.

I have one

I have a 2002. Its been a great car and has 50,000 miles on it. Only problem is that during the break-in period it would fishbite when cruising on the interstate. Dealer replaced something and the problem went away. Other than that no problems. Lots of interior room and the wife loves it.

Love it inspite of

We purchased a certified used 99LX in '02 w/ 50k miles. Although service records complete and up-to-date at dealership as maintained by prior owner, at 63k miles, transmission was replaced under warranty and EGR valve modified per TSB. It has been troublefree and flawless since then and is a great way to travel. Installed a DVD/flip down screen system to enhanced experience.

97 SL500 tri blk
sprt pkg1
29k miles

99 LX cnynstnslvr
98k miles

I know they had transmission issues early on. I don't know when those were resolved.

My friends mom has one, a 2000 or 01 I forget. 180k miles and has been riddent hard, its pretty shot. They just replaced the trans a few thousand miles ago, about $3k.

Sorry for the fishbite metaphor. Its like taking your foot on then off the accelator in series 5-6 times and much faster than the foot could actually perform. Hope someone can explain it better than that.

Mileagewise...20ish on the highway maybe 14 around town. Thats my guess since I dont drive it that much. Its always loaded with little munchkins(kids) eating doritos and and dropping gummy bears while watching a video. Kinda like a rolling nursery.

Its a great car. I guess there are good and bad in all cars, but to reiterate, no problems since the dealer repaired the whatcha-ma-call-it.

Not to be a naysayer but 14 mpg city and 20 highway?? I realize that the missions may be totally different but I get 15/18 in my 2003 4WD Yukon XL. And I can haul my clan of 6 and all of our stuff while pulling the boat or going snow skiing. Why would anyone buy the Honda? Also, although I don't own one, I drove my sister's new Odyssey and it was noisy in every way and rode rough. I have had 3 Astro vans and one Chrysler Town and Country and IMHO they are all better choices than the Honda (although the Chrysler did have some premature transmission issues). Bottom line: The Honda will be very dependable and last a long time with minimal cost. Drive one and if you like it and it fits the mission and the budget, it will be hard to go wrong. I just didn't like it and for what it is I'm not at all impressed with the fuel economy. People tend to equate Honda with fuel economy and it just ain't so.
