2002 Ml500

My wife and I are thinking of buying either a new land cruiser or ml500 with third row. Any comments on the new ml500. I've doing some reading and people either love their ml's or hate them for nagging finish details. Can anyone out there who has owned a new ml500 and has a couple of thousand miles on it comment on their ownership experience to date. Any and all comments would be appreciated.

~5000 miles in three months, third row seats out of the car most of the time.
Two things went wrong so far, but fixed under warranty.
1. PSE module gone bad, locked out all audio.
2. Passenger seat cushion came loose.
Love that power though.

ML320 with 3rd row, 500 miles. Fit/finish is OK. ML500 will be no different. One thing I don't like, when you take out the 3rd rows, there's nothing to close the opening left in the fender wall. Things can fall in there easily - remember, we take the seats out because we want to store stuff back there. All MB had to do was extend the plastic strip there another 3 inches and the problem'd be solved. Problems so far: D'Side seat belt installed wrong. Was fixed yesterday.

Try p/n A 163 692 02 22 9B96.

This is the cover for the third seat latch. 9B96 is the color code. I bought these to cover the openings.

8B96 is the color code for the color of Amfung's interior, be careful or you'll end up with the wrong color. I believe the part mentioned is what closes up the holes if the seat isn't installed, you'll need to order 4 of them is I am correct.

Thanks Gilibenztech and amfung. I'll get that part # to my dealer tomorrow and make sure the color code is correct. Thanks again

Gilly is correct. 8B96 is anthracite. My interior color is charcoal.

Rear Cargo Cover with 3rd Row Seats

Thanks for you responses. Now I have another question: The cargo cover can't be ordered with when the 3rd row seat option is selected. I looked at my truck today and it seems like the fittings for the cargo cover are in place. Has anyone with 3rd row used a cargo cover (w/out the seats of course)? Those w/out 3rd row, can someone post a pic of the fitting area so I can compare with what I have just discovered?? Thanks.

I have the cargo cover but I don't have the p/n. I think it's around $90 and you can just order it over the counter. The sockets as well as the tracks are there for the cargo cover. You just have to be careful with the third-row seatbelts tearing the cargo cover when it's fully extended.

We just bought the cargo cover, and pulled off those black raised covers that cover where they mount. Just sort of grabbed them and pulled them outward and downward slightly.
