AL: Any interest in a Euro 4 speed manual 280e drivetrain?

I have a '79 Euro 280e with a 4 speed. The first thing I want to clear up is that this thing HAULS. Exactly like you'd expect a Euro M110 4 speed to do. Laying rubber in 1st? No problem. Tire bark in 2nd, yup. And I'm not talking revving the motor and dumping the clutch in 2nd like you don't know how to drive a manual, this is rev 1st to redline, get into 2nd as fast as the synchronizer will let you and there's a little bark. New plugs and wires, new lower radiator hoses.

That's the good part. The bad is that this motor is worn out by my standards. Single big puff of white oil smelling smoke on decel from high RPM's. If I take the breather hose from the valve cover off the air cleaner and wrap a plastic bag around it, blowby will very slowly inflate the bag at idle. On a healthy motor, the PVC valve will pull air in the opposite direction at idle. The engine is encrusted from ancient oil leaks. Somebody ran a bead of caulk between the cam tower and the head, lol. Speedo don't work but ODO is stopped at 400K kilometers. Trans and clutch are passable. Not brand new but nothing that needs fixing rn. *Edit* forgot to mention that it idles fast on cold start and takes longer than I'd like for it to slow down, but it does slow down. I understand that the fast idle valve thingys do mess up and cost a fortune to replace.

I'm selling because I've decided to do an M104/dogleg 16v 5 speed swap.

This package can include motor, engine mount arms, trans, driveshaft, all ignition stuff, fuel pump. If you want to get serious, I can do cluster and 3.58 rear diff but you have to supply replacements and it's okay if they're from a diesel. Wire harness? Okay. Now for fuel lines, I need some for the swap so I might not be able to part with those. If you've got some diesel ones to swap, it *may* work out. I need the pedals and hydraulic line to the slave cylinder. If a W201 pedal assy will fit I can supply that.

Pricing in the sub-$1000 range. Can provide video of running and driving, can drive a limited distance to meet you with it all in the bed of my pickup. Located in Birmingham.
