Cross country parts run

I'm on business in Southern California (near Fresno) in a few weeks and I'd like to grab a few things while I'm in the area. I'd also like to offer to carry any parts with me if anyone needs something.

I'll be flying from Washington DC to Fresno April 8-12. Anything that can fit in a checked bag and under 70lb is what I'm open to.

The parts I'm looking for are w123 rear bumper trim pieces. I desperately need items 39 and 42. 45 would be nice as well.

Bump.

I've only found one car in a yard near Fresno. I'd really love to get these parts while I'm out there.

Just talk to Karl Eugene, he knows all the bone yards out there. He could even pick it for you in advance and then you guys could hang for a beer when you pick it up. Maybe even arm wrastle a bit

I would say nice try Boscowitz, but that there is way beyond my range. The furthest south boneyard I’ve been to was the south San Jose branch before they closed it. Now it’s the former North San Jose yard that divines the limits of my southern range.

Well find something closer to you and bring that, duh. He needs rust free metal from your area to transplant in the rust worm zone.

I hit up a few yards in Fresno on Sunday and got the brackets I was looking for. I've hit two more in Madera since then for other parts.

You can have the dead Black Widows and cobwebs.

I'm still pulling parts for friends, might head up to Stockton or Bakersfield later today.

Best pull I managed so far in California was this beauty that I scored for an insanely low $20. (Not from a junkyard, but from Craigslist)
