Where were you eight months ago? I needed tires bad and had a lot of grief about fitting small 15" tires on my car as well as there only being two sizes to choose from. I searched and searched for the 16" 15 holes and found nothing. I ended up settling on the widest 15" tire I could get.

wheels

Planning on putting these on a 91 560SEL with 225/60/16's.
I think these have a offset of 34 .
Have you tried this combo and had problems ? Did not want to have to run spacers but may wind up doing it to get a 16" wheel on car with some decent rubber on ground.
If MB had designed and built this car 30 years later it would have had 17 or 18 inch rims on it>> just my personal opinion
Let me know what you think, always open to educated info on subject.

No, actually I'm trying to figure out what wheels I want on my '85 SEL and how the ride/handling is with a 16" wheel.

I'd prefer monoblocks, but those seem to be pretty hard to find, and since my tires are 9 years old (and I don't want to buy any tires until I find wheels), I kinda need to find a set of wheels sooner than later.

Please post pics and your impression of the ride when you get them; also - what rim/tire combo are you currently running?

I couldn't get these 16x8 wheels on an 87 SDL or 91 300SE. The tire contacts the inner fender before the wheel is fully seated on the hub in the rear. I'd be surprised if the 560SEL is any different. I'd say the setup calls for a 15mm spacer.

On the other hand, there was talk of these wheels fitting an SEC so there might be hope.

16" wheels

So, these have a fitment issue on the REAR of both the 300SE and a 87SDL ? That spells problems for me. I am very surprized that there would be a rear fitment issue, was thinking problem would be up front .
Looking at my 91 560SEL from the rear, the tires on it ( 205-65-15's ) look like they belong on a Toyota Celica or such;just way too small . car rides ok but is a 4000 lb. bowl of jell-o in a corner/on ramp/back road/etc.

8"-ers fit easily under a 560SEL, just not 8"-ers with such deep offset. I had 225/60-15s on my SDL on 7"-ers with 25mm offset with no problem.
