Intermittant Blower Motor 88 560sl
My blower motor seems to have a mind of it's own, it works only when it wants to. My mechanic thinks I have worn brushes and that it's a big job to replace the motor. Is there any other thing I should try to fix the problem before resorting to this?

The blower motor on that car is located underneath that little black panel under the hood by the windshield, you know the one with like 20 screws in it.After that panel is removed you will see 4 10mm nuts that hold it in. Its a little hard to finagle out but anyone with patience can do it. Do yourself a favor buy one from this site and replce it yourself it takes me about 20 minutes to replace it so it might take you an hour taking your time. This is actually one of the easiest to do so dont be intimmidated by what anyone says. You can do it!

I agree with euro 287. I had the same problem on my 380 SL. It was fairly easy to remove and replace.
A simple blowing away the dusk and a few shots of WD-40 did the trick for me. Next time Iwill replace.

Blower Motor
I took the blower motor out and put direct power to it and it ran fine. I reinstalled the motor in the car and it wouldn't run. Is there something up with climate control system in the dash that could be causing the problem?
