How to clean wool covers

It depends how bad they are. If you think they are shot, it can't hurt cleaning them. Wool or sheepskin? If they are the floormats, look at $160+ to replace. Easy to wash first! Believe it or not washing in a washing machine is fine on a gentle cycle - cold water for even factory sheepskin covers with the emblazoned Merc Star. Shake first, soak overnight in a tub with a Eucalyptus type wool wash same type as for your jumpers/cardigans? Rinse and then throw them in your machine on a gentle cycle. Hang out to dry in the shade. Fixed! Proprietory stain removers used on clothing is also good for tough spots prior to soaking. Even better, use a friends washing machine as you don't know the history of the beasties living in your wool. If you want that dead sheepskin smell use a specific wool wash obtainable from any outlet that now sells our Ugg Boots! Depends how bad they are and what smell you want. Here in OZ we lived on the sheeps back, so we should know!
