1985 500sec
1985 500SEC, body has a few rust spots, top of back seats are split, The car had been sitting for 2 years when I bought it. I've flushed the gas tank, cleaned the strainer, replaced the filter and checked the pump, cleaned the air intake, warm up valve and anything else I could get to with carburetor cleaner and added some Seafoam to the tank, It starts and runs, and I can drive it down to the end of our street and back but wouldn't want to make a trip with it in unknown shape. (best bring a trailer) I believe it needs "a little work" to the fuel injection system to run properly. $1500 or offer. Located about 50 miles South of Washington DC in Maryland.

I'll have some spare interior parts in that color after I switch interiors on my 380SEC if you or the person that buys it needs anything.

Thanks John, I don't think they're really too bad, just the seams are split at the top of each back seat. The rest of the interior is OK.

Hi Tom,
I was just about to to plunk-down $1350 on a 'mate' for my 560SEL tomorrow - but a coupe is so hard to resist - & unfortunately the guy asking $1500 for his 560SEC is 3K miles away in SoCal. Damn! I've tried combing all threads, but I don't seem to see your total mileage listed anywhere. Did I miss it ? Also, I read your description of potential injection problems, but wonder what the bottom-line might be? Could the car handle 500 miles as-is to get it home, or is this really a local sale/repair-first (or flatbed) situation?
