123 air intake grill removel

How does one go about removing those little square keepers that hold the air intake grill in place. Yesterday while crossing a bridge with a stiff wind on the beam a god arrful moaning noise was coming through my vent system. I am hopping its because there is only one keeper in the vent screen and it was vibrating like crazy. The noise went away with a shift in the wind, ....very wierd.... Anyway I need some off my parts car and dont want to bugger them up trying to figure it out.

Just push the center pin locking pin out.

Might need a few new clips when you are done. I took mine off and the center panel between them. Cleaned everything and put it back together.

Thanks Michael ....The little square pin in the middle thats flush with the big pin, OK Sounds like maybe I should just order new ones. But I dont see quite how to "push it out", since its "flush"

Yep- rectangular center pin.

You *push* it all the way out(into the air inlet area) and recover them after removing the vents. You certainly won't need all new ones- maybe 2-3 total.

Drives side you'll remove the wiper arm, maybe a nut etc too.

I said recatangular to suggest that it's not square, hence it should only go back together one way!

Good luck,

Michael
