For anyone reading this thread for help with hood hinge removal, I did this a few days ago on my W201. It was much easier than I imagined it would be. Each hinge was bolted to the fender with 4 bolts. After removing the plastic liner in the tire well (10m), you gain access to the nuts of the 4 bolts (10m). I could reach my arm up in there and touch all the nuts with my hands, so it's not too bad. Use a regular ratchet, an offset wrench works real well for tightening. Nice to have a helper up top making sure the new hinges are lined up when you're tightening. These things are cheap at the junk yard. Now all I need is that hood!
