Wheel alignment
Does anyone knows of a good place to get wheel alignment for w123 in the bay area? I am planning to rebuilt my front end, and heard this car can be difficult to align. Thanks...

Cant help you with Bay Area places as I wasn't into MBs when I lived there but I wanted to mention that I had Les Schwab do an alignment for me last Fri. As for using a "generic" tire place, I was a tad skeptical but they seemed to do a good job and I was able to get right in there and watch the guy do his thing. It coast $78.00 compared to the regular price of $49.00 as they said "MBs were harder to do" (or maybe cause I watched and asked quetions ![]()

My experience has been that the dealer is the best place to get it done right. If you use a non-dealer shop, ask them if they have the spreader bar for the front tires and the special tool to lock the steering box. If they don't or if they tell you that they aren't needed, then you can be pretty sure that their alignment won't be on the money.
