w140 3.5 om603 problem
Hi friends, I'm going to explain you my problem (I'm sorry I'm French and I translate in English)
so I did a lot of things on my w140 3.5 om603 -oil and filter change -my engine had bad timing and my fuel pump was leaking diesel. I changed the pump seals by taking it out of the engine and then I put it back in and did the engine timing (of course with the blocking tool that goes on the right side of the pump). I then put the pump back on empty (the impeller was like new) I don't know if you have to put the motor in a certain direction to put it back on or not... when everything was back together i started the engine and it was PERFECT, no more leakage at the pump / the engine was very stable / no more smoke when i started / but when i went for a ride one thing caught my attention, the engine makes a rubbing noise 'i have the impression that it's the timing chain... also engine start when I remove the oil cap I do not splash oil as before (oil rises very slowly) but does not spurt. with the little road I made to test if I had worked well, the oil pressure was normal (cold engine I have 3 bars). I just checked my chain timing again and it didn't move so the chain is not loose according to me but this noise worries me. could I have broken a chain guide? thank you very much in advance for your help i am at a loss max. |

The engine should have been at 14 degrees after top dead center both to remove the injection pump with the locking tool and to reinsert with the locking tool.
Your engine does not sound drivable.
