Looks like it could be just a home made adapter to put the oil pressure sender up where it is easy to change..?

It’s fuel related.
The oil pressure senders for these engines are mounted on the end of the cylinder head or at the top of the oil filter housing. Either one is extremely easy to get to. I knew this gadget was fuel related since it has a small metal tube connecting it to the IP. Apparently it’s not needed. I will probably just install my original IP on this engine and keep on dieseling.
