Good Bye to an old friend

Just got the news that the young man who bought my 85 300D a few years ago just today got t-boned by what appears to be a McCar of some type. He walked away with "minor injuries". Wow. I hear from his dad from time to time and we always make it around to speaking of the ol' Benz and how it's been doing. They've been keeping up with most stuff and I guess were planning on driving it for a lot longer but not now..

What are they going to do with the car? Might need some parts.

Well, looks like a lot of good parts .....and always good when a car is hit actually running... so someone can expect a useable drivetrain....
Have to think of it like organ donations.... gone ... but not totally gone...

I NEED that engine! I can pick it up when I'm at Wilmington in a couple of weeks.

I don't have a spare for Mutt - though his is running great.

I've sent a message to his dad to ask what they will be doing with it. I told him that I know there is some interest in parts and such. I'll keep you guys updated as I learn their plan...

I am glad he walked away with minor injuries. Hope he is doing well.

Look at the "McCar" it's crushed pretty bad. The w123 held up well.

Glad the driver walked away OK. Cars can be replaced, and that one did it's job and protected the occupant.
