That change occurred mid 2005.

No strap hanging, nor plastic handles in my trunk. I'm certain I don't have the 60/40- if I did, the vertical cut-line up and down is totally discernible. What it was described as the entire seat back folding forward - that, I thought possible on mine. Just wanted to compare notes here w/other 05/06 CDIers.

Mine doesn't even the clothes hanger feature immediately under the trunk's speaker box deck area.

You can add one (or two) if you like! Facelift (2007-) models came with one standard on the passenger side.

The 2007s, were also the Bluetec V6es. I definitely didn't want that.

The plastic double fish hooks you've captioned, are also clothes hangers.

If anyone has the pictorial of the entire rear seat back being folded down as in one piece (not 60/40) after the seat bottom is folded forward - that is what I'm waiting for. If one exists.

Really they're for grocery/shopping bags. I'd use the hooks inside for hanging clothes.

Until others have a chance to take some pictures, I found a few online

60% split side folded down

40% split side folded down with bottom cushion removed & passenger seat folded flat

Grocery bags would work too!

That's just real neat!

A camper, or a Mother In Law wing, or, for kids to rest, or a cat litter box back there, or, whatever! Reminds me of the Business Man's Coupe two-door built in the early '40s. They could double as overnight billeting for the road-weary traveler on business, vacation, or even a little hanky-panky! Heh!

I really like how the passenger-side front bucket seat is able to be laid flat forward!

But can both passenger side doors and pillar be removed?

Bi-Xenon active headlights video

US vehicles do not have the fog light cornering feature I believe but video shows what Merceds/Hella were thinking about....

The '05 my friend bought has cornering headlights. Not sure if it has the different modes to add/remove light but they sure do work nicely.

Agree some options can be failure-prone in the long run. The powered closer on the trunk in mine doesn't work from the trunk button but does from the driver's door. I need to track down.....think it is electrical connection running through arm of trunk that becomes separated. The Bi Xenon headlights can be expensive to service and are expensive to replace.

In order of preference: Sunroof (in previous MBs, only my 1976 300D didn't have one...I really like a sunroof in a Mercedes), dynamic seats, Bi-Xenon head lights (safety feature really), Leather, HK Stereo, Fold down seats, parktronic, heated seats (my wife would rank these higher in order), cooled/ventilated seats (no personal experience with these) and trunk power closer.

Caveat on sunroof, if you are really tall, the absence of a sunroof can be a good thing you get additional head room.

Finally, low optioned CDIs.....the options only make up a very small part of what makes these vehicles nice to own and drive. Even a vehicle without many options is still a very nice vehicle to operate!
Respectable townships have ordinances against sleeping in a car.
its illegal.

My car has the fancy headlights too but I don't think the active curve lighting is enabled

It would be awesome if my passenger seat folded flat, would make trips to the lumber yard nice.

My data

06 Everest Green Grey Interior ( pebble??) 164k miles
$9500 (bit more due to bank financing and tax, tag, title fees)

Options
Command/NAV
Heated seats
Split and folding rear seats ( my number one option)
Bi Xenon headlights with washers
Harmon Kardon sound system
6 disc CD changer
All weather floor mats

Work done

SBC. Pump replaced under warranty
6 new glow plugs
New from bearings
New front ball joints and tie rods
E55 AMG wheels, staggered.

Overall condition. 8/10

The interior needs a little polishin, b pillar has done wear and so does the stearing wheel. Nose of the car has a 3m clear bra which needs yo be replaced but it took the brunt of road debris damage. Paint has some scuffs which I hope can be polished out. Love the Everest green, almost looks black at night. The right wax will make the car pop.

I'm imcredibly happy with the car. I need to do the injector seals. I have the puller. I just need to gather up the nerve to do it. The clamping holt likes to do so apparently. Dealer quoted me at $500 to do the job, for all 6, might call back and confirm.

Future mods: some totem of tune, restore to AMG wheels, paint the calipers silver, and that's about it.

When your headlight switch is on manual low beams (not auto setting), the active feature is enabled. You can see it work if you park the car and rotate the steering wheel from one side to another. Motors move the lights around upon activation also.

It is subtle and designed so you cannot see the movement while driving.

For upcoming project, I am thinking of adding Sirius Radio. I am not going to add the MB box and reprogram the radio. I am going to add a stand alone unit and plug it into the auxiliary plug port in the glove box.

Red calipers are #1, Yellow #2.

ALL of these cars needed the Xenon headlamps. Very poor headlamp design-performance on the basic Es.
