wiring harness pictorials/sketches?
I keep wishing there were a place to look at W126 harness pictorials, so I might know where to expect to find wires/harnesses I need to either tap into, check for continuity, or (like now) anticipate what I will be up against if I decide to pull out/repair/replace certain segments. Anything out there?
Particular problem now is that it seems as if some very-hidden, very-inaccessible damage occurred within the driver door, near the passthrough grommet for the power seat controls...I think that section of harness takes a "Y" just after it gets into the pillar, so it can't be pulled through to repair it, at least without more chasing-down and separation of the other branch of the Y somewhere. (before giving up, I bypassed two discontinuous wires in the harness, thought I was done, tested, and found that...two /different/ wires are now discontinuous...) I'd appreciate any resources. I'm not sure what you mean by harness pictorials. The best way I can think of is using the wiring diagram from the FSM and observe the color code on the wiring.

Thanks, but no, I've got well-perused schematics.
Parts sellers use limited pictorial views of harness segments, shown in 3D perspective, indicating plugs, fasteners, grommets, etc., often showing ghosted images of surroundings, like seats, fuel tank, etc to help the viewer orient themselves. I think there must be a central OEM version with all these images that doesn't require figuring out part-numbers. It would only take ten pages or so to detail all harness segments for a typical car, I think, so it would be easy to simply scroll through all of them and find whatever is of concern. Color-codes would be awesome, but not really necessary.

the foldout schematics do include connector IDs, locations, and pin numbers. you have to do some cross-referencing, but the data is there. the pin numbers are shown in the molded plastic of the connectors.
