... do you have a good shop vac? just pinch off the return hose, and open the filler neck, and pressurize the tank until good solid fuel is up to the pump...
and charge the battery, and have a good engine start charger to handle all the pumping!

Fuel at the IP is not the issue when delivery valves are changed.

Apparently, a significant amount of air is introduced into the area where the valve resides and doesn't easily want to purge.

Cranking time was estimated to be a total of 150 seconds on six attempts.

The interesting thing is that fuel would appear at the cracked high pressure lines, however, the engine still would not start. The amount of fuel was clearly insufficient as compared to the diluted air.

Once started, it ran very poorly for nearly 15 minutes with significant gray smoke at 1500-2000 rpm. Finally would idle after this period but with significant injector knock and some hunting.

I shut it down, took the SD to NY..............and left it alone to brood.................

Mine actually cranked right up a few days back after sitting five months... only started to run the A/C for a while to keep it lubricated. Boy did it smoke like a chimney once it warmed up a bit.

Cannot wait to swap the head and get it back on the road!

The awesome 617 does not have such needs or demands. It will sit a year, start, cough, and run fine. No leaky delivery valves.
