1984 300D Shifter rattle assistance please
By the way, i'm collecting parts lists and I'm having trouble figuring out what part/parts I need to fix the "shift lever rattles until i hold it this one way" problem. The Rod/Linkage/Circlip unit doesn't have a bushing anywhere and I assume its supposed to, but I cant find the part number for worldpac and I dont want to bug the parts guy here with mundane lack of knowledge questions to help figure it out.
And, i'm not trying to start a war here, but what weight of oil do people put in these engines? I used 15W40 delo in my old blue 300D I owned for a bit, and it was a slug I put Rotella 10W-30 in this one, and it seems to do alright, but im about due for another change.

Answer: SHIFTER BUSHING
for the oil... it's best to search. use the top search link, and in the google search field, type diesel oil ... and sit back for a LOT of reading.... never use less than CF rated xW40 oil...
