I am missing something. What is the bottom line here? Did you get the window installed?
Does it leak? Is the trim in place? Did you pay them?

Where did you get the window seal?
I need to replace my windshield, and think I am going OEM with the seal, as I have heard to many stories of leaks from aftermarket ones.
Plan on bringing it to Payless, and leaving it for a couple days, so they can put their best guy on it, with no rush.

I had Jack Morris Glass replace the SD windshield. $225 for glass & install. Don't be afraid to tell them what price they need to beat. I stayed with the installer but would have no qualms about the guy they sent doing the work unsupervised.

The front is glued in & doesn't require a seal. They will price labor only but you own the glass in the event it breaks during or after install. I "think" there is a lifetime warranty on new glass but am not sure exactly. It may cover operator stupidity & things like driving with the hood loose but I'll have to check document.

Even my friend who used to own a body shop uses glass installers for his cars. Wholesale on glass is cheap so negotiate.

I hate it when I get a new computer and all the shift keys and punctuation symbols are hidden.

Too bad you didnt get good service. That is a real bite in the a$$.
I have inquired with a couple local glass places for possible replacement glass for our cars. It is really nice to have new front glass.

yes 79sd has a big thick rubber seal-the good thing is that there was absolutely no rust in window frame.

is the trim supposed to be installed in the seal BEFORE it goes on the glass or into the car? I know it's like that on the 82SD, and the 123's...
