79 sd thermostat o ring

is o ring different on 116 vs 123,i havent taken old one out,but in box with new thermostst came a thin rubber o ring,on my 85300d the o ring is fatter with a little lip on top with hole in it,are they different -i want to have correct o ring before i take it apart

all you have to do is look it up in the parts tab above.

Note: This is what they show for a 79 300SD.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

The turbo 617's have the thermostat bypass and need the gasket with the small hole. The shape of the thermostat housing cover will give a good clue as to which gasket is required.
