pressure plate bolts

Little unexpected snag in my 5-speed conversion (1980 300TD) today as I tried to install the clutch and pressure plates. the standard M8 with 13mm heads i tried to use to bolt the pressure plate up with went too close to the walls of the flywheel to allow tightening. What size head is used for these? Is 12mm small enough or is it some kind of allen head? Anybody got any or can tell me where to get them? I'm guessing 10.9 hardness is correct.

Otherwise, things are coming along well, though I still need the plumbing between clutch master and slave as well as a reverse light switch. Anyone?

Thanks in advance,
KenB
