Dipstick length question/slipping trans - 98 E300

Ok, so I've got some slipping on the upshift between 1 and 2 on a 98 E300D with 225k on it. I am not using the MB dipstick tool, but rather a generic dipstick that does the job nicely.

I remember someone in the past posting the length of the dipstick from the end to the 20C and the 80C marks, and I used those with my dipstick.

I cannot find that information now and my memory is foggy.

Can anyone measure their dipstick from the end for me and tell me the distances to the 20C and 80C marks?

Thanks!

Search "Parrot of Doom"(s) posts; I believe he posted a photo.

If no one else posts it I'll measure mine when I get home tonight.

I have the information you need.
From the end, the 25 deg. section is between 10 and 21 mm
The 80 deg. section is between 54 and 65 mm.

AND per MB revisions you want to fill toward the top of the 80C level, target +60mm; disregard the 20C fill marks.

I'm ashamed to share the results of my dipstick measurement...
