I know its a long shot if anyone has ever done this, but I have my ACC evaporator box apart and the foam on the doors literally fell apart in my hands. I scraped the remaining bits off.
Im assuming the foam was for sealing the air flap doors tight and for dulling the clank they would otherwise make shutting. The clank doesn't bother me, but if the small gaps made a whistling sound it could get very annoying. How hot do you suppose it gets inside the evap box? I have some foam tape I could use for the job here but its only rated up to 150 degress F, and not flame retardant. I have no idea what the original specs were of course. Any ideas on this rarest of topics most appreciated... dd
