1986 300SDL Intermittent cruise control problem

Recently, my 300SDL has been acting funny.

The cruise will suddenly stop cruising intermittently. I will be cruising at 70 or so and it will act like I applied the brake and just slow down.

It started doing it just EVERY now and then but its been doing it more.

What would I look for in this regard...Im not even sure how the cruise control works and what would cause it to suddenly cancel the cruise.

Any suggestions on what to look for?

The usual culprit is the amplifier. But, on a 20 year old vehicle, the actuator may also be nearing the end of its life due to wear.

You can screw around for months or years trying to get it to work or you can spend the money and let GDL rebuild the amp and/or the actuator for you.
