I had a problem with one end coming off. the plastic hook broke off, so I pulled the rubber back some from the bumper, and used a hack saw blade to cut the hook off flush. then drilled a hole from the back side through the slot and used a washer and screw. I drilled into the plastic, not the rubber strip.

I trimmed too much away from the impact strip, but there you go.
I ended up pulling that off from the plastic mounting strip, securing those two tight and pounding the impact strip on. Thanks all who helped.

U.S.A. W123 Bumper Impact Strips
4.29.2019
What a great thread ! . The left end of my 240D's impact strip is a bit loose, I want to remove it and polish the bumper's chrome before re installing it, now I know how thanx to you alls . I'll try a dead blow hammer if I can't force it on by hand .
