I had a problem with one end coming off. the plastic hook broke off, so I pulled the rubber back some from the bumper, and used a hack saw blade to cut the hook off flush. then drilled a hole from the back side through the slot and used a washer and screw. I drilled into the plastic, not the rubber strip.

I trimmed too much away from the impact strip, but there you go.

I ended up pulling that off from the plastic mounting strip, securing those two tight and pounding the impact strip on.

Thanks all who helped.

What a great thread ! .

The left end of my 240D's impact strip is a bit loose, I want to remove it and polish the bumper's chrome before re installing it, now I know how thanx to you alls .

I'll try a dead blow hammer if I can't force it on by hand .
