Thumbs up W/Wipers...I Know,I Know...But !!

Hey folks.
Ive been reading so many threads on windshield wipers for a long while on Mercedes Benz that I decided to do a little test of my own...
Approximately 6 months ago I purchased a set of wipers for my 1983 126.
I was some what skeptical about buying them but I went ahead and did so.
I must say that so far they have been flawless in every way possible, needless to say that up in the north west it rains allot so I got my fair share of testing.
They are manufactured by Michelin and they are called *Radius*http://www.michelinwiper.com/ .Oh I did try the ones sold specifically for Mercedes and as you all know they cost an arm and a leg to buy,but frankly I wasn't impressed with them at all. These were 11.95$ each and come with a three year warranty, sold I'm told only through Costco.
Whats your opinion?
Regards
Dan

Interesting....I agree that the Bosch Blades don't work very well...they smear...and mine are barely a year old. (I only replaced the rubber blades, $13) Those look awesome....maybe I will try to obtain some. They have that "equal pressure across the entire blade" technology don't they....I think I saw a commercial for those a little while ago.....

***According to their website, you can get them at WalMart too....I might check there.

$10 rebate if you buy two! I am going shopping!

Is there a part number you can give us on the Costco Radius refills?

Is your wiper arm bent like that from the factory, or did you have a wrestle with it? I saw those bades at the PepBoys near me. I'll give them a try next time. Thanks for the heads up.

By the way, are you trying to make a statment with the convenient pump of vaseline visible in photo 2?

I had sympathy for the vaseline, so I held back from saying anything. Its cold in Canada! Chapped and dried out skin/lips is a major problem!

It was 36 here last night....so the cold weather is upon us.

I've got the Bosch Icon wipers on both cars, (similar design) one set chatters just a bit when not terribly wet, but not bad. Forget the price, but I think more than $12.

I don't like the way a certain area of the driver's side wiper blade seems to end up missing the three inches two inches from the end - right in my line of sight. It is almost like I've got a low spot in my glass.

We have the Rain-X version of those wipers on our Volvo V70. They are absolutely great- no awkward pressure points or streaking from poor flexing. Mine has the Bosch blades as well- they work pretty well, but they are nothing special. They tend to miss the areas very close to the rain gutters.

I went to Pep Boys seeking out the Michelin Ones....(as they have the $10 rebate) but they didn't have them....I might try walmart tomorrow.... They did have the rain-x ones (same thing) but they were $18 apiece for the 21" blades! My current wipers still wipe the water off.... But they leave quite a bit behind. I've also not checked autozone yet, where I'll be tomorrow for some more oil/brake cleaner. If they have the rain-x ones I may just buy them there because if I do it separate and throw in something small....thats two credits towards my $20 autozone rewards card. (and I only need two more credits to get my $20)

What happens if you have a 124? Just stock up for the next change?

Wonder if they make 'em long enough.

Edit: In their application guide they don't specify 300E (or any pre-facelift 124 for that matter), but they specify a 1994 E320 with a rear wiper blade ...guess that's what they call a single wiper

Its for any car.....any two "Radius" wiper blade purchase qualifies for the rebate. I think they have them up to like 25-26" or more....I'll see when I go to the store.
