Suggestions for Downpipe
Any suggestions on fixing a down pipe, without spending $150 for a piece of fitted flex pipe?! Or please point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Take the $150 and buy a new one (H2000-69458); I tried all kinds of fixes, it just doesn't work.

I got mine for my SD for $135
Napa sells the flex pieces....so if the rest of the pipe is still usable, you could cut out the broken flex part and weld in a new flex piece and re-use the rest....then it'd only cost like $40-50. ![]()

I also do not think there is a real alternative to replacing the pipe.

I didn't think so, but I just felt like $150 is pretty high for what I'm getting. That little bastard just doubled the cost of my new exhaust.

By the way, is this part an "if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it kinda thing? Is it something I can do later on down the road without completely pulling the exhaust? Thanks!

First of all, the labor is pretty expensive to make them, then the cost of the metal and the flex joint, then add in the fact that its going to cost 40% more because the dollar is so weak to the Euro (US1.41 to 1 Euro currently) that is why it costs a lot. If the currencies were equal it'd be more around $100-115ish rather than $150. Not to mention it needs to get here, thats a lot of shipping.

DIY man!! I bought a 3" diameter STAINLESS flex coupling on ebay for $20.... If you've got a welder and the rest of the Downpipe is good, get the flex joint and fix it!!
