Confusion for using a bolt for window regulator...

I've followed the posting for replacing the window regulator guide thats a metal post and pressed/hit in from the factory. I know of the clevis pin route but my question is about the bolt/nut/washer fix.

Does the head of the bolt go where the white plastic guide use to be or do you 'still' use the plastic guide and put the bolt through it and eventually screw the nut on from behind.
