Exact location of the engine grounding cable?
I am having a multitude of problems that have sprung up recently, but to start I have a fairly simple but possible dumb question, but on my 1985 300D, where exactly is the grounding cable located? It is supposed to connect the engine block to the chassis of the car.. I believe it is somewhere on the drivers side but I can't seem to find it.. is it accessible from above the car or do I need to go underneath? pictures or a diagram would be awesome.. have the manual but didn't see anything about it. thanks!

Runs from lower bell housing bolt on drivers side to mounting on body and is a bare braided ground strap.
Just under and to the rear of the steering box.

Picture of engine ground strap
On 1985 300D, copper braided cable routed from left transmission housing to chassis.
