Crankshaft alignment pins............

Upon reinstalling the crank balancer on my 617, it seems that the alignment pins grew some in width. The pin position on my engine is slightly offset so I don't have the problem of installing the balancer 180 degrees off. As I was tightening & checking for proper alignment, when it finally all came together, the pins seem to have their edges shredded some-like a few thousands of an inch. Talk about a tight fit! I checked the crank timing with the opening of the valves per the manual & it's right on the money-so I guess I'm happy!?
Just don't like to see stuff like this when putting an engine together. Paul.
