The Inland Empire is kind of a black hole for Mercedes shops.

I know it is technically not in the Inland Empire, but there is a great shop in Walnut called MB Stars.

They are twin brothers who worked for Penske Mercedes in Covina for over a decade, and are Master Guild Technicians.

They've had their own shop for probably over 10 years now, and work on nothing but Mercedes.

I've posted their contact info before on this site if you try a search.

You can also dial 411 and ask for MB Stars in Walnut.

They also post under the username MB Stars in this forum.

I am OK with early Saturday morning this weekend, but then I have to get back home early.

My USC Film School daughter (GO TROJANS...BEAT UCLA) is doing a shoot on Staurday and I am the PA for the shoot (it justmeans that I get to carry equipment and pay for lunch). so I need to be back home early i the AM.

Otherwise I am good.

I would like most of us to be there if possible.

If it is anytime between 7:30 am and 8:15 am I can do it either saturday.

How about a pic?...

You WILL post a photo of the finished plaque, yes? And of course, some photos of the presentation please!

Wish I could join you guys...

Alon - let me know $ and where to send (and thanks for doing all the work)

Kevin

P.S. - if somebody knows how to print this thread in a way to be able to put it into a little booklet or binder (wouldn't it make nice waiting room reading?), I'll help with that cost too..

P.P.S. - is there another thread here in "..Good Shops" that even comes close to this one? Enrique is a rare find for sure.

Alon: Let me know how much $ and when (date and time) and I'll be there.

Yes, Enrique is unique. This weekend my car's CEL lit up. It was a bad O2 sensor.

Yesterday afternoon I drove by Enrique's shop. He took my car in w/o appointment. Changed the bad sensor and did a a oil and filter change (Mobil One).

Time spent: A little over an hour.

Cost of repairs/maintenance: Less than $300.00.

Having Enrique as a trusted mechanic (and now friend too): PRICELESS

lets not worry about the Money for the plaque just yet. Lets get it to him, then whoever wants to can chip in some money.

The plaque has not cost much at all, so don't expect to chip in much.

I am all for the 5th very early in the AM, or the following saturday very early in the AM. I wish I didn't have to work, but I swapped a couple of saturdays so I could go to mexico last week and have the friday and monday off, so my november saturdays are all working days.

Lemme know how much and I'll chip in, too.

If it ends up being this Saturday, I understand, but I can still make it the following Saturday.

I now have a problem with this Saturday. My daughter's film schedule has been pushed to an earlier time on Saturday. so I will not be able to make this Saturday.

I am OK with next Saturday, early in the morning.

I apologize, and if you have to do it on the 5th, I'll understand.

BTW, on Wednesday, Enrique went for a heart stress test. I'll call him today to see how it went.

He is a real gentleman and a true friend of Benz owners all over the area.

Enrique opens at 8:00 on Saturdays

I stopped by to see Enrique this morning, he seemed in very good spirits and looked good, he'll find out more tomorrow. I noticed that while he opens at 7:30 M-F, he's there at 8:00 on Saturdays, so plan accordingly if you do a morning presentation.

Lets shoot for next saturday then, since more of us will be able to attend. We will of course have cameras and take some pics. I gotta jet outta there by 8:30 am at the latest. since its a saturday, Traffic should be light enough for me to shoot over the hill to work...

Though it wont matter much if I am a few minutes late anyway.

Paul, I may finally get to meet you.

Which car to bring? "Orson" or "Alice?"

Bring Orson. We can compare W210's.

Since I bought my 2000 E430, I've done the following mods:

1. installed a brand new, European version, Command Navigation system.

2. installed an orginal wood / leather steering wheel.

3. installed a burl walnut shift knob.

Where did you get your steering wheel from? And was it too expensive or difficult to do the swap?

Orson's PO must have have sticky hands or something. The leatehr on the steering wheel is sort of stained and I'd like to replace it. I had wood and leather in my Seville and I like the feeling of it.

A Europen Nav System? What's that? Does it give you directions for Paris, London and Sevilla?
