Thank Kestas.

I found the plate (it was actually the same plate I looked at before my post but now I have it confirmed that I was looking at the right one).

Anyway - Now that I know were the plate is - How do I understand which one of all the numbers on it that describes the paint code?

The plate I am looking at is just in front of the cooler in the middle and I think it contains a lot of information that I cant decode.

More help please.

Thanks/ Mikael

You can try this link for the paint code:
http://www.amcon-luxled.com/mbcar/index.html

On the pic you can see where the paint code is. On this example, paint code is 040 (black). Upholstry is 178 (Gray MB-Tex). Chassis is 124.128 (W124, 90-93 300D2.5 Turbo-Diesel)

Hope this help...

Great link. Thanks!

I have a copy of my Vehicle Master Inquiry (General Information) that shows all of the options that came with the vehicle. There are 2 that I am curious about.

634 - elimination of first aid box
Interesting, as I have the first aid box on my vehicle... although just today I noticed that there is a sticker on the white plastic first aid pouch that says it came out of an '89 vehicle. Maybe a previous owner had it added back? Anyone know how to remove it cleanly? I want to put a speaker there.

987 - battery cut-off switch for vehicles to be shipped
Anyone know what this is?

The "987 - battery cut-off switch for vehicles to be shipped" is a heavy-duty two cable set with an HD on/off switch with a key attached. They are attached to one of the battery terminals and the other to the battery cable.

These are used to to turn of the power of the vehicle during shipment. These prevent battery drain and the need to jump and replace batteries during shipment, thus lowering costs.

These cables are removed by the dealer and are supposed to be returned to the manufacturer's distributors.
