mercedes m110 989
hi , I was wondering if someone had the torque settings for the crankshaft main bearing journals. Found some info though I am not convinced that 80 nm is the correct torque for the crank. any help would be appreciated. johnw

Yup. My trusty, dusty Motor manual says 58 ft/lbs which equals 79 N.m. Add in a safety range error of 5% puts you right in the ball park.

Thanks for the confirmation. It seemed rather low giving the size of the bolt, though they also appear to be stretch bolts as they do have a reduced area at the thread end.best to be sure, thanks again
