W115 300D multifunction stalk short?

Sometimes my windshield wipers come on by themselves. This happens frequently after I've had them on and turned them off; they either won't stop on their own, or they'll periodically go off by themselves. I've lived with that for a while, but more recently the turn signals are only working intermittently. Is this a matter for a new multifunction stalk, or is there an in-dash electrical gremlin to chase?

Sounds like an electrical issue between the windshield wiper coming on randomly and now the signals cutting out...chase that gremlin out!
