M110 idler pulley clearance

I am re-installing the AC Compressor and Idler pulley in my recently acquired '73 280C. It was missing when I acquired the car. Have to have AC in the Desert! However, the clearance between the pulley and the fan base/hub appears to be extremely small to me. 2-3 mm is all that is there. Is that correct or do I have the wrong fan? Can anyone post a vertical photo showing the gap between the fan and the idler pulley? It looks like it will work fine...................it is just a very tight clearance and I would feel a little more comfortable knowing that that is the way Mercedes designed it.
Thanks.

The gap is indeed very small--if the A/C pulley isn't tensioned off and secured properly it will fall into the fan double pulley and make a racket
