w108 250SE idle problem
Hi, car is '67 250SE with M129 engine. I'm having trouble with cold starts: With the idle set to spec when warm, at cold starts the car fires up fine and runs well at fast idle for a couple of seconds, then drops right down, to around 500rpm and will soon stall. Ignition is good and the car runs perfectly once on the move, warm starts are perfect. Checked the throttle plate closes properly against the stop, can hear the suction at the IP air filter, done the CSV test and it's not leaking and it energizes at ignition on.
What i've been doing to get over it is set the cold idle just above stall, but then when the car is warmed up the idle speed is too high. If I set it back to factory spec when warm, then I get low idle problem at my next cold start any ideas? cheers, Alex
