My Swedish W115
Hi
Thought I would post some pics of my w115. Have not seen many swedes around here...yet. It´s a 200 gas with 4-speed manual. No extras, just standard swedish equipedd, has run 203000 km so far. 1 previous user. Sat in a garage for 11 years until i bought her. Anyway, here is my beaty in the shape I bought her last summer. Just washed her off, no detailing done on these pics. Swedish summer in full bloom; At the moment I´m removing some surface rust and will replace the left front fender which hade severe rust. Found a used rustfree MB-original fender for only 35$. Just need some paint. Found those wheels on the local junkyard, 6½" wide , paid around 20$ and sent them for blasting and paint. Will get som tires for them in the spring. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Last edited by Swede; 02-06-2010 at 04:15 AM. |

Thanks. Personally, I don´t think she´s a beauty yet, but she will be after all surface rust is removed and the exterior gets a good polish.
I´m thankful for the fact that the interior is excellent and she still has the original Blaupunkt radio. |

Found some old pictures showing the interior. The rear seatbelts looks like they have never been used. The side of the drivers seat might need some attention and the rubbermats too. I´ll clean them and put on some greasy stuff

My car was a typical "old mans car" ten years ago. No one bothered, today prices are rising but they are still cheap. I paid around 700 $ for this one, running but not driveable. Had to change the bearings and rubber for the gearshaft (was that right)? The axle between gearbox and rear end. My english might fail some time. Let me know if you don´t understand what I´m talking about |

Hej Swede
Lovely car, I had an uncle that owned a W115 200 gasser when I was a child, my father had a w114 250 with a 4 speed at the same time. I think these are what got me started. I was expecting to see headlamp wash wipes on this car as I know these were standardized on Swedish cars at some point. Keep up the great work.

Good looking car. I notice you have gravel guards or "mud flaps" as they are called here, are they factory? I see floor trays like I have had in w123's before also.

Ja (yes) it´s factory mudflaps. All cars had them in the seventies. Mine are in quite bad shape......
Do you think the floor trays are from a 123? Maybe they are the same? |

The fight against surface-rust continues. This week has resulted in rust free wheelarches, and rear panel. I´m still working in a big spot on the rear fender, near the tail light.
I´m painting all areas with an epoxi primer containing zinc. Works excellent! |
