Vintage Blaupunkt radio with short wave
My 1967 250S actually has a Blaupunkt radio. I thought I had a Becker but I went and looked closely and found th truth. From what I gather, Becker is much more common. Do you think this is the original radio? Does it have the ridiculously large amp with it? Anyone have any info on it?

i actually have all of the old Blaupunkt factory literature as well, (a lucky find that i discovered in the trunk after i had bought the car.) the face of the radio doesn't denote any model designation but according to the literature i have, it's the "Autoradio Frankfurt US, TYP: 7 638 650. not sure what model they put in the 250s but if it's the same as mine, i've got wiring schematics, specs, etc. should you be interested. btw, what is this ridiculously large amp that you speak of? is it a separate unit from the radio head itself?

Some of the Beckers have an in dash amp that's the size of a portable TV.

Ditto my 250SE coupe. Blaupunkt. Your dash should have a similar knob set. Note how the cig lighter matches the radio knobs.

Mine is almost exactly like that except my buttons are black with white letters.
