ball stud - rocker clamp?
Hi all,
On some of the ball stud/rockers on my 72 250, there is some kind of a wire clamp. not all of them have it. Would the lack of those "clamps" cause a tapping sound? sometimes at idle or during acceleration i hear a light tapping. Almost sounds like someone rapping a pen on a table. Thanks

There are supposed to be springs holding the finger followers on to the ball studs. See the spring on the left.

Yes, I'm missing a few of them.
Any idea where I can get more?

I'm sure your local dealer will be happy to help you
I think these are going to be a dealer-only item, but I wouldn't expect them to be too expensive.
These guys at Mercedes Source can get them for you. There are two spring pieces for each cam follower. |

Crap. I hate dealing with my dealer, they're far, and tend to charge me double what MBUSA quotes.

Try an indie shop. When I worked for one we had buckets of head hardware like that.

I haven't found a indy that works on furryner cars.
