i hope someone can help me i own a 1972 280se with a v8
can someone please tell me which one is the first spark plug does it start on the left bank or the right bank. my car ran good until i changed the spark plugs, distrubutor cap air filter, now it back fires, when i can get it to idle, sometimes it won't even do that. i really doen't know anything about engines but i'm learning to do it myself. so i hope my questions not a stupid one!

#1 plug will be the plug nearest the radiator on the right bank (passenger side of car if LHD).

Shanna, only thing stupid is not to ask. Just a little tip for future plug wire changes, swap them out one at a time. This illiminates the possiblility of crossing wires, which sounds like what you may have done.
Oh and welcome to the "club". There is plenty of advise, tips and friendly people here.
