6.9 in L.A. area junkyard
For anyone who may be interested: there's a genuine 6.9 sitting at a self-serve yard in Sun Valley. The place is A Foriegn Auto Parts or something like that, it's on Telfair just one junkyard south of Tuxford, right next to the 5 freeway. The car was mostly complete this morning (2/18), the engine was missing some minor parts (injection parts, hydraulic pump), the suspension seems to be all there.

does it have heated seats either front or rear? (Would have orange toggle switches).

Didn't really check for anything other than details that would confirm it's 6.9 status: Remote oil tank, suspension, suspension locking control on dash and decklid badge. Yes it is silver w/blue int.

Can you get a VIN? One of these days I was planning on putting together a M100 database. Can you find the year and color (ext/int) as well? Brad at M-100.info had a database but got lost in a computer crash. So any ones people come across are going into the database.

I was just there again this morning but I hadn't yet read your request for a vin, if I go back again I'll get the number. Shame to let that engine go to waste but I can't use it for any of my projects, I'd say only about every 15th person that actually looks at it knows what it is. As an aside there's somebody who keeps a stash of Mercs parked on Romaine street in Hollywood just east of LaBrea where all the homeless people hang out, a blue, down on it's haunches 6.9 is among them.

They way I get there is to take the 5 north, exit Lankershim (which leaves you on Tuxford) turn right and make a left at the first intersection (which is Telfair). There is a yard on the corner of Tuxford and Telfair, the one next to that with the big parking lot is the one you want to go to. The 6.9 is in the European section along the yard's main drag.
