Door panel on W108
Hey all,
So I tried to put my window down on a very cold day in Jan. and the window jumped off the motor frame. This has happened before, my dad fixed it. He is a little busy right now and I want my window back. Can anyone tell me how to properly take the door panel off? Thanx, Taylor |

Here's the quick version-
Remove trim around latch mechanism (two screws). Remove black plastic inset under door latch handle (pry out from front with small screwdriver or similar) Remove chrome trim piece at door latch handle (one screw - under black plastic piece) Remove armrest (Three screws - do the hard one first. It is under the chrome trim piece at the front/top of the armrest. The trim piece must be pried off from the sides first. Then remove screw. Two more screws are under the main part of armrest.) This should leave just the door panel (unless you have crank windows or old electric windows) This panel has plastic pop pins down the sides and across the bottom. It also has a "non pop pin hanger thingy" about half way up the front edge. Carefully pry panel from door except where "hanger" thing is. Then you should be able to tilt the rear of the panel down to clear the panel topper and then lift the panel up to remove. Good luck! |

Thanks for your excellent reply.
I told my dad I posted about taking off the door panel. He said he would do it for me this weekend haha. He does not trust me to do it, which sucks. But I get free mechanical labour, so thats sweet. Thanx, Taylor |
